I see many patients with the upper back, neck and shoulder pain and tightness. Shoulders are particularly well known for accumulating stress and getting tense and achy.
Due to the sedentary nature of our lifestyle and work we seem to be prone to developing issues and pain in this part of our body. It is key to remember that issues with the shoulder or the scapula can affect the neck muscles which in turn may lead to the reduction of range of motion and even headaches and vertigo. Therapeutic massage can be one of a few great solutions for overworked muscles and definitely can help.
When treating these conditions I also use other techniques including osteopathic articulation, hold-relax techniques, and manual therapy. Recently I also started using more Erik Dalton’s techniques and transfer skills from the peadiatric cranio-sacral therapy on to treating adults. Contact me with any questions or make an appointment.
