Advanced Cadaveric Ultrasound-Guided Injection Course at King’s College London

I recently attended another excellent cadaveric ultrasound-guided injection course at King’s College London, led by Dr Lorenzo Masci and the outstanding SMUG faculty. Specialist training opportunities like this are invaluable for refining procedural skills and translating them directly into day-to-day clinical practice.

The course focused on a wide range of advanced ultrasound-guided interventions including shoulder barbotage and lavage, shoulder hydrodisection, high-volume injections, hip injections, lateral subtalar joint approaches, biceps tendon injections, and several other upper and lower limb procedures.

The cadaveric format provided an excellent opportunity to improve needle visualisation, deepen anatomical understanding, and further develop procedural accuracy in a highly practical learning environment.

It was also a pleasure to learn alongside like-minded clinicians from across Europe, including colleagues from Cyprus, Norway, Switzerland, and Belgium. I particularly benefited from conversations with more experienced practitioners, sharing different perspectives, techniques, and clinical experiences that will undoubtedly help inform and improve my own practice.

Ongoing hands-on training and collaboration with experienced colleagues remain essential in advancing musculoskeletal and sports medicine care and ultimately improving patient outcomes.
