I saw Marek again for an ultrasound steroid injection for my bursitis. He checked through my notes before arranging an appointment making sure this was ok. When I arrived he was friendly but very professional. He checked where my pain was and whilst injecting me kept asking how I was. After the procedure we chatted about alternative procedures for the future which was good. Would definitely recommend Marek

In extreme pain following a rheumatic flare I desperately searched in vain for a steroid injection to my wrist through various NHS providers. In desperation I contacted Physio-Soton and was seen the next day. The service and results were second to none. I received an Ultrasound guided steroid injection and felt immediate relief and the joint has got better each day since. As most people under rheumatology know getting help quickly is almost impossible so this service is a lifeline for those in severe pain and I could not recommend it highly enough. Going from 10/10 pain to mild discomfort in the space of a day is remarkable and Physio-Soton will be the first port of call in future. I am forever grateful for the level of service and clinical expertise.

Personally I've often been sceptical of reaching of for scans or therapy work due to poor past experiences, however I can say upon visiting Marek this is one of the few places I've been that offer a great service. Clear and direct feedback with open communication made the appointment flow smoothly. I'd highly recommend for anyone who's got some niggles or injures that just don't seem to be healing and you need to know/understand what's going on. ****** 6 stars as google only offers 5.

Had a same week appointment with Marek to have an ultrasound on my ankle where I had concerns of a long ongoing achilles complaint. Marek was very thorough in his assessment and recommended exercises to help relieve. He also provided a thorough report and copies of the scans to share with my GP and NHS specialist I am under. Would definitely recommend

I would highly recommend Marek. He’s very professional and approachable. I went to see him with shoulder pain. He did an ultrasound and then administered an injection. Went through everything really well so I knew what to expect during and after the procedure. I will definitely be seeing him again.

I initially saw Marek after suffering a sporting injury to my right bicep, elbow and shoulder. He was referred to me by my chiropractor as I was keen to get an ultrasound as quickly as possible. Marek offered me a next day appointment and spent an hour conducting a full and thorough ultrasound of the soft tissue and joints in the affected areas. He was very reassuring and professional, taking his time to explain everything clearly and making sure I understood what he diagnosed. I left feeling much happier and with a clear understanding of what I needed to do to recover. A second follow up appointment built on the first, more reassurance and new exercises to help build up strength and confidence. Overall I would highly recommend Marek. He is calm, reassuring, professional and patient. Thank you!

Extremely happy and impressed. For context, I am a 21 year old male who contacted Marek due to acromioclavicular joint issues due to weightlifting. He was able to book me in a few days from my phone call with him. All my questions were answered in a detailed and informative manner, and the aftercare was great as he phoned me later in the day after reviewing my ultrasound images. The most important thing to note is his moral integrity which I was so surprised with due to how many people are today. Because of my issue I thought I would need a joint injection, however he said for my case this would be unnecessary and potentially delay healing. This is surprising as many practitioners these days would advise having the injection merely to make a buck off of me. I really respect this honesty and truthfulness. Thanks very much.

Thank you Marek! A comprehensive scan and explanation of my ankle issue with advice for self recovery and exercises moving forward. Most helpful. I would have no hesitation in recommending your service to others. Quick and easy to book an appointment online.

Excellent experience with Marek at Physio-Soton. I came in with a long-running Achilles problem and he took a proper history, reviewed my training, tested the tendon thoroughly with Ultrasound — diagnosis, imaging and a clear rehab advice all in one visit. He was honest about what the findings meant for my running rather than telling me what I wanted to hear, and explained everything in plain terms. As a triathlete it's rare to find a physio who is also an MSK sonographer and genuinely understands training load. Highly recommended.

I had an excellent experience with Marek following my car accident. From the initial phone call through to my appointment at the clinic, he was professional, well spoken, and took the time to explain everything clearly, which immediately put me at ease. He carried out a detailed ultrasound scan of my shoulder, and having access to advanced diagnostic equipment within the clinic meant the assessment was thorough and precise. He clearly explained the findings, what they meant, and the treatment options available, giving me a much better understanding of my injury. Marek is highly experienced, exceptionally knowledgeable, and genuinely focused on providing the best care for his patients. His professionalism, expertise, and attention to detail were outstanding. I would highly recommend Marek to anyone looking for an accurate diagnosis and first-class treatment.

Knee pain is one of the most common reasons people search for treatment in Southampton and Eastleigh.

If you’ve been Googling:

  • “knee injection Southampton”
  • “knee pain physio Eastleigh”
  • “ultrasound knee scan near me”

—you’re not alone.

👉 At Physio Soton, we offer ultrasound scans, diagnosis and treatment in one visit—so you don’t waste time guessing what your knee needs.

The key question is:
Do you need physiotherapy, or would a knee injection be more effective?

Modern clinic for ultrasound-guided joint injections and scans
Clinic for ultrasound-guided injections

What causes knee pain? (and why it matters)

In our clinic serving Southampton, Eastleigh, Winchester and Romsey, we commonly treat:

  • Knee osteoarthritis
  • Meniscus irritation or degeneration
  • Patellar tendon pain
  • Knee bursitis (inflammation)
  • Overuse or sports injuries

Each condition responds differently to treatment—so getting the right diagnosis early is essential.

When physiotherapy is the best option

Physiotherapy is usually the first step for knee pain treatment in Southampton and Eastleigh.

It works best if:

  • Pain is mild to moderate
  • You can still exercise (even with some discomfort)
  • The issue is related to strength, movement, or biomechanics
  • Symptoms are relatively recent

A tailored physio programme can:

  • Improve strength and stability
  • Reduce strain on the joint
  • Address the root cause of the problem

👉 For many patients, this is all that’s needed.

When to consider a knee injection in Southampton or Eastleigh

A knee injection may be more appropriate if:

  • Pain has lasted several weeks or months
  • Symptoms are not improving with physiotherapy
  • You have swelling or inflammation in the knee
  • Pain is affecting walking, sleep, or daily life
  • You’ve been told you may have arthritis

Steroid injections can:

  • Reduce inflammation quickly
  • Provide significant pain relief
  • Help you return to normal activity

👉 Many patients in Southampton and Eastleigh choose injections when pain is stopping them from progressing with rehab.

Should you get a scan before treatment?

This is one of the most important decisions.

We use ultrasound scanning to:

  • Identify the exact cause of knee pain
  • Detect inflammation, tendon issues, or joint changes
  • Guide treatment decisions

👉 Without a scan, treatment is often based on guesswork.

Why ultrasound-guided knee injections are more effective

Not all injections are the same.

Ultrasound-guided injections:

  • Precisely target the affected area
  • Improve accuracy and effectiveness
  • Reduce the risk of missing the joint
  • Lead to better outcomes

👉 This is why many people specifically search for
“ultrasound guided knee injection Southampton”

What’s the most effective treatment overall?

In many cases, it’s not about choosing physio or injection.

The best results usually come from:

  1. Accurate diagnosis (ultrasound scan)
  2. Targeted knee injection (if needed)
  3. Follow-up physiotherapy

👉 This approach treats both the pain and the underlying cause, reducing the risk of recurrence.

How much does a knee injection cost in Southampton & Eastleigh?

The cost of a knee injection can vary depending on the clinic and whether ultrasound guidance is used.

At Physio Soton, we provide:
