Every injection at Physio Soton is performed under ultrasound guidance, the most accurate way of injecting, and every injection price below includes a complete assessment, guidance, procedure and aftercare advice, with no hidden fees. Your journey starts with a £60 consultation, and if an injection isn’t appropriate for you, you won’t be charged for one. Based in Eastleigh, we welcome patients from Southampton, Winchester, Romsey, Totton, Chandler’s Ford, Hedge End and surrounding Hampshire.
Here are our full injection prices, procedure by procedure:
Assessment, diagnosis, honest advice on your options
Draining swelling or fluid build-up (e.g. after injury or with osteoarthritis)
Fast relief from joint pain and inflammation
Smoother joint movement in osteoarthritis; often longer-lasting than steroid
Plant-based implant for knee osteoarthritis. An option for those not responding to hyaluronic acid.
Long-term knee osteoarthritis relief from a single hydrogel injection
Stimulating natural healing in joints and tendons
Calcific tendinopathy of the shoulder
Frozen shoulder — includes manipulation in the same session
Before any treatment, and regardless of which injection prices apply to your joint, your visit always starts with a detailed clinical consultation: how your pain started, which movements are limited, previous treatment or scans, and your goals for recovery, followed by a full physical examination of the affected joint. If required, a diagnostic ultrasound scan can be performed at the same appointment to identify the exact structure causing your pain.
Once we have a clear diagnosis, we explain whether an injection is suitable, which type would be most effective, the expected results and timeframe, and the risks, benefits and alternatives. You will never be pressured into treatment; the decision is always yours.
If an injection is appropriate and you wish to proceed, it can usually be performed immediately during the same visit: the skin is carefully cleaned, ultrasound guidance ensures precise, safe placement, and the medication is delivered to the exact problem area. The injection itself normally takes only a few minutes, and most patients describe it as very manageable — we talk you through every step.
You leave with clear, personalised aftercare guidance: what to expect over the coming days, when to return to normal activity, how soon improvement should begin, and what to watch for. Where appropriate, we also plan rehabilitation exercises, physiotherapy support at our Eastleigh clinic, and longer-term prevention. Follow-up can be arranged if your condition needs monitoring.
The barbotage injection price is £460 at our Eastleigh clinic, including lavage (washing out the calcium deposit), a highly effective, ultrasound-guided procedure for calcific tendinopathy of the shoulder. The price covers the guided procedure and aftercare; read more about our shoulder injection clinic for the full shoulder pathway.
Hydrodilatation costs £495, and unusually, the price includes shoulder manipulation performed in the same session, stretching the tightened capsule while the high-volume injection distends it, which is what makes the combination effective for frozen shoulder. Very few clinics publish this price; most quote it only after a consultation.
Aspiration of a joint or soft tissue costs £80 as an ultrasound-guided procedure, used when swelling or fluid has accumulated after an injury or due to a joint condition such as osteoarthritis. Aspiration is often combined with an injection in the same visit; where it is, we’ll quote the combined cost clearly before anything happens.
Our injection prices vary by treatment because each works differently; each option has its own detailed page covering suitability, evidence and what to expect linked in the price table above. In brief: steroid (£250) acts fastest but shortest; hyaluronic acid (from £350) tends to last longer; Arthrosamid £2600 is the long-term single-treatment option for knee osteoarthritis; prolotherapy (£225) builds healing over a course. The £60 consultation exists precisely to work out which, if any, fits your joint.
A knee injection at Physio Soton in Eastleigh, near Southampton, costs £250 for cortisone, from £350 for hyaluronic acid, £225 for prolotherapy, or £2600 for an Arthrosamid implant, each ultrasound-guided, plus a £60 initial consultation. See our knee injection clinic for which option suits which knee
Our injection prices include clinical assessment, real-time ultrasound guidance, the injection procedure itself and aftercare advice, transparent pricing with no hidden fees, and no full injection charge if an injection turns out not to be appropriate.
Yes. Ultrasound guidance lets the clinician see the joint or soft tissue in real time, ensuring the medication reaches precisely the target area, improving outcomes compared with landmark-guided (unguided) injections. That’s why guidance is included as standard here, not sold as an extra.
Not always. Your clinical assessment determines whether imaging is needed, and in most cases, an ultrasound scan can be performed during the same appointment to confirm the diagnosis and guide the treatment decision; no separate imaging visit is required.
Private appointments are often available within days, and in many cases assessment and injection happen in a single same-day visit. Call 023 8218 2416 or book online to check availability. The clinic is open Monday–Friday 10am–8pm and Saturday 10am–3pm.
Hyaluronic acid injections, most often used for knee osteoarthritis, may provide relief for several months, typically longer than a steroid injection, with results varying by the severity of joint changes and individual response.
See our full injection prices above, and start with the £60 consultation: a proper assessment, a clear diagnosis, and honest advice on whether an injection is worth your money, with treatment available the same day if it is.

I saw Marek again for an ultrasound steroid injection for my bursitis. He checked through my notes before arranging an appointment making sure this was ok. When I arrived he was friendly but very professional. He checked where my pain was and whilst injecting me kept asking how I was. After the procedure we chatted about alternative procedures for the future which was good. Would definitely recommend MarekPosted on Google![]()

In extreme pain following a rheumatic flare I desperately searched in vain for a steroid injection to my wrist through various NHS providers. In desperation I contacted Physio-Soton and was seen the next day. The service and results were second to none. I received an Ultrasound guided steroid injection and felt immediate relief and the joint has got better each day since. As most people under rheumatology know getting help quickly is almost impossible so this service is a lifeline for those in severe pain and I could not recommend it highly enough. Going from 10/10 pain to mild discomfort in the space of a day is remarkable and Physio-Soton will be the first port of call in future. I am forever grateful for the level of service and clinical expertise.Posted on Google![]()

Personally I've often been sceptical of reaching of for scans or therapy work due to poor past experiences, however I can say upon visiting Marek this is one of the few places I've been that offer a great service. Clear and direct feedback with open communication made the appointment flow smoothly. I'd highly recommend for anyone who's got some niggles or injures that just don't seem to be healing and you need to know/understand what's going on. ****** 6 stars as google only offers 5.Posted on Google![]()

Had a same week appointment with Marek to have an ultrasound on my ankle where I had concerns of a long ongoing achilles complaint. Marek was very thorough in his assessment and recommended exercises to help relieve. He also provided a thorough report and copies of the scans to share with my GP and NHS specialist I am under. Would definitely recommendPosted on Google![]()

I would highly recommend Marek. He’s very professional and approachable. I went to see him with shoulder pain. He did an ultrasound and then administered an injection. Went through everything really well so I knew what to expect during and after the procedure. I will definitely be seeing him again.Posted on Google![]()

I initially saw Marek after suffering a sporting injury to my right bicep, elbow and shoulder. He was referred to me by my chiropractor as I was keen to get an ultrasound as quickly as possible. Marek offered me a next day appointment and spent an hour conducting a full and thorough ultrasound of the soft tissue and joints in the affected areas. He was very reassuring and professional, taking his time to explain everything clearly and making sure I understood what he diagnosed. I left feeling much happier and with a clear understanding of what I needed to do to recover. A second follow up appointment built on the first, more reassurance and new exercises to help build up strength and confidence. Overall I would highly recommend Marek. He is calm, reassuring, professional and patient. Thank you!Posted on Google![]()

Extremely happy and impressed. For context, I am a 21 year old male who contacted Marek due to acromioclavicular joint issues due to weightlifting. He was able to book me in a few days from my phone call with him. All my questions were answered in a detailed and informative manner, and the aftercare was great as he phoned me later in the day after reviewing my ultrasound images. The most important thing to note is his moral integrity which I was so surprised with due to how many people are today. Because of my issue I thought I would need a joint injection, however he said for my case this would be unnecessary and potentially delay healing. This is surprising as many practitioners these days would advise having the injection merely to make a buck off of me. I really respect this honesty and truthfulness. Thanks very much.Posted on Google![]()

Thank you Marek! A comprehensive scan and explanation of my ankle issue with advice for self recovery and exercises moving forward. Most helpful. I would have no hesitation in recommending your service to others. Quick and easy to book an appointment online.Posted on Google![]()

Excellent experience with Marek at Physio-Soton. I came in with a long-running Achilles problem and he took a proper history, reviewed my training, tested the tendon thoroughly with Ultrasound — diagnosis, imaging and a clear rehab advice all in one visit. He was honest about what the findings meant for my running rather than telling me what I wanted to hear, and explained everything in plain terms. As a triathlete it's rare to find a physio who is also an MSK sonographer and genuinely understands training load. Highly recommended.Posted on Google![]()

From the initial phone call through to my appointment at the clinic, he was professional, well spoken, and took the time to explain everything clearly, which immediately put me at ease. He carried out a detailed ultrasound scan of my shoulder, and having access to advanced diagnostic equipment within the clinic meant the assessment was thorough and precise. He clearly explained the findings, what they meant, and the treatment options available, giving me a much better understanding of my injury. Marek is highly experienced, exceptionally knowledgeable, and genuinely focused on providing the best care for his patients. His professionalism, expertise, and attention to detail were outstanding. I would highly recommend Marek to anyone looking for an accurate diagnosis and first-class treatment.Verified by TrustindexTrustindex verified badge is the Universal Symbol of Trust.
