Arthrosamid is an injectable hydrogel implant, a soft, water-based polyacrylamide gel (iPAAG) that integrates with the synovium, the tissue lining your knee joint capsule. Rather than wearing off like a drug, the hydrogel stays in the joint, cushioning it and calming the inflamed synovium that drives much of the pain in knee osteoarthritis. It’s a single, one-step procedure performed under local anaesthetic, so you’re in and out of the clinic the same day. Arthrosamid has been used to treat more than 15,000 patients across 200+ clinics in Europe.
It works on a different mechanism entirely. A cortisone injection suppresses inflammation and typically lasts weeks to a few months. Hyaluronic acid supplements the joint fluid and tends to last longer than steroids. Arthrosamid is an implant, not a temporary medication it acts on the synovium itself and is designed to provide relief for many months and often years from a single treatment. That’s also why it takes longer to reach full effect.
